Happy New Year Everyone! Happy 2009! I hope everyone had a good time celebrating.
Ok, so maybe it's been more than a year since I had updated this. There are a few other projects that I have started, some I had finished, and some... well, that I haven't touched for a long time but would like to finish it (or undo them completely). Here's the first of the newly made projects:
Children's Cotton Hat
Light blue (blue-white) New Bernat Satin yarn
Finished measurements:
Height: 4 1/4 inches, with brim rolled
Circumference: Approximately 15-16 inches
Source: Last Minute Knitted Gifts
Started on Tuesday, 20 December 2008. Completed on Thursday, 1 January 2009.
This project here is something I've always wanted to make. It's got this cute, edge-rolled knitted hat with the I-cord brilliantly implemented into the design. When my trigonometry teacher announced that she was pregnant back in October, I thought, wow, congratulations. Back then, I hadn't even thought to make something for her and her unborn kid but to watch her tummy grow a few centimeters each time we met, even more-so after Thanksgiving. As Christmas grew even closer, I began to think of knitting something useful that she could have her baby use, but what? Well, I thought it was early enough to knit something small, something quick and fairly easy. I have gone and looked into my book. A stuffed animal? Perhaps-- it's listed under as a 6-8 hour project, but knowing how slow of a knitter I can be sometimes, it can take me weeks to finish, not within a matter of days, or hours. (Look at that pair of grey leg warmers I haven't finished for over a year and it's still not finished!) Some baby booties, a child's hat, and a bonnet looks useful. Why not a child's cotton hat and some baby booties? Perfect!
